There are a lot of people who will be dressing up as Britney Spears for Halloween this year -- but there is one committed Britney fan out there who takes dressing like Brit seriously the other 364 days of the year! Derrick Barry impersonates the pop princess for a living, and he's really good at it!

You might have caught Derrick doing his  best Britney on TV shows like America's Got Talent and The Next Best Thing. The first time I saw him, I couldn't believe how much he really looks (and moves) like our Brit!

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays. What other day of the year can you get away with dressing up in a crazy costume at work!?

"Womanizer" has slipped down the #5 spot on the Billboard Hot 100! Travesty I tell you. We've all been requesting "Womanizer" to our local radio stations since it slipped from #1 to #4 last week, but it seems our efforts aren't quite paying off?!

Now, I don't know about you, but I'm not one to give up easily, so let's keep calling in, requesting online and telling all our friends to do the same so that we can get "Womanizer" bumped back up! In fact I encourage everyone to walk around singing "Womanizer" all day, whether you're at school, at work, wherever you are... I wanna hear the nation singing in unison by the end of the day ;)

We got more information on Britney's Key to My Heart necklace and we can definitely confirm that Britney's charms include the names of her sons with one charm reading Jayden and the other reading Sean. Both heart charms are made of the boys' birthstone, which is sapphire for their September birthdays. The pendants are actually made of Swarovski crystals -- sparkly and pretty just like our girl Britney!

There's been so much excitement surrounding the election and with all the talk of Britney's and Paris Hilton's celebrity status in John McCain's campaign I got to thinking about how cool it would be if Britney actually were running for President. Well actually (being English) at first I thought how cool it would be for her to be Queen, but since this isn't England, President will have to do...at least for now!

As President of the United States, Britney would need a stellar Vice President to help her run the country so I've picked three candidates that I "reckon" (my attempt at Yankee colloquialism)  would be tip-top VP's to our Brit!

So take a "gander" at my top picks and vote on your favorite candidate.

Angelina Jolie: I think she'd be a fab VP. As a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency and with a resume boasting some seriously impressive humanitarian experience, Angelina would be a great asset to the Britney cabinet. Plus the White House is a pretty big place and  with all those kids, Angelina could certainly use the space.

Madonna: Like Angelina, Madonna is an independent woman with strong ideas and a lot of influence on America so having her as a right-hand (wo)man would be fantastic for Brit. Madge collaborated with Britney on 'Me Against The Music,' and I think they would make an ideal political team, don't you?

Tucker: What more can we possibly say about Tucker that we haven't said already!? I think it's a pretty obvious choice (and pretty obvious I have a slight crush on Brit's youngest newly-platinum-blond-ed dancer).  But is he VP material, I hear you ask? Totally and here's why: i) we already know Tucker is a Britney fan so he'd always have Britney's best interests at heart, ii) he can dance up a storm so would be able to teach the whole Britney cabinet some impressive moves and; iii) he's so much younger than Angelina and Madonna that he could totally relate to the youth of America and help lead the whole country into a new era of all things Britney!

So I think you know who gets my vote but I'm really dying to see what everyone else thinks!

A few friends of SocialiteLife.com are so pumped about Britney's "Womanizer" video that they're going as various versions of Britney: Office Britney, Vixen Waitress Britney and a handful of overly confident people are even attempting to recreate Steamy Sauna Britney. Good luck with that, guys.

So as we revealed to you all last week, Britney spent some time in dance rehearsals sporting her dancer Tucker Barkley's red hat. Well... thinking that he looked kinda cute, I decided to do a little Google-ing (that's Google-ing... NOT stalking!) and came across this video of a then 14-year-old Tucker (he's 18 now).

The video shows Tucker at the 2004 Lakeland Regionals Hall of Fame in Florida busting out all his best hip-hop moves to a routine he choreographed himself! Pretty talented kid, right? The routine is called 'The Crush' and young Tucker spends the entire dance performing to a life-size (or close enough) poster of none other than Britney!!

I wonder how Tucker managed to go from dancing with Britney posters at 14 years old, to actually working as a professional back-up dancer for Britney just four years later! And whether he still has a crush on Britney... Are you guys wondering the same thing?

Check out this medley Britney performed at the 1999 MTV EMAs. I love it because it's like Brit remixed all of her hottest songs for the performance, especially "...Baby One More Time."

Celebrities have always had a knack for influencing the top baby names list -- and this year it's no different. Our very own Britney has managed to launch the name Jayden up to the second most popular name for boys in New York City, according to the city's Department of Health. Two years ago, before little cutie Jayden James was born, the name wasn't even in the top ten of the list!

We looked up a little about the name Jayden -- it's a variant of the ancient biblical name Jadon, and it means "Jehovah has heard."

Looking up Jayden's name got me curious about Britney's name and I found out that it comes from the old Celtic clan the Bretons who moved from France before founding and ruling what we know today as England.

Britney wanted us to get these exclusive pictures up for you guys right away! She just sent them and they're amazing pics of Britney with Sean Preston and Jayden James at a pumpkin patch. Britney tells us that the boys jumped on the "jumpin pumpkin" trampoline while she watched and laughed from the doorway. They all had a blast!

Of course the paps were everywhere, including one who was hiding in a tree (he looks a lot like the big rabbit on the pumpkin next to him!).

After finding the perfect pumpkins, Brit and the boys headed back home -- where I am sure they are making some awesome jack-o-lanterns!

Who can forget Britney's 1999 Rolling Stone photo shoot?! To this day those pics remain some of my favorite of all time! Shame I don't have (estimated) $32,000 to spare because one of the David LaChapelle's Britney pics is going up for auction at Christie's auction house in London on November 19. It's crazy to think "Baby, One More Time" is ten years old. In person terms, the song would be a precocious fifth-grader right now, learning the facts of life in Health class from a creepy video of a family playing beach volleyball in the buff; making dioramas out of pipe cleaners; and sneering at sticky-fingered, icky, cootie-oozing boys (while secretly wearing the headband that her crush once said he liked). And yet, though it feels eons ago that we fuggers were all atwitter about young Britney posing in her panties on the cover of Rolling Stone, the song itself sounds new every time it comes on our iPods. It's just that good.

Not to mention iconic: Despite the fact that Britney actually spends less than half the video cavorting through the school corridors in that infamous, skin-baring, yet weirdly innocent school uniform, that image is the most indelible one from the entire clip. You know that's true because the video also features a posse of dudes in neckties and Dockers, hilariously leaping, twirling, and pointing skyward, and yet NOBODY remembers that. Instead, with one glimpse of Brit's bare midriff between that crisp white shirt and her pleated skirt, a million Halloween costumes were born. Because while "Baby One More Time" didn't invent the concept of the sexy schoolgirl, it did teach us all how much guys totally dig it when you bust out a plaid skirt, pigtails, and a sassy bra. In the subsequent years, we alone dipped into the Naughty Catholic-School Co-ed well for Halloween at least three times -- including one particularly memorable year when we bumped into two dudes dressed as Satanic priests and ended up with a pretty memorable photo of us kissing their crucifixes (we swear that's not a euphemism).  One of them even called us "the Britneys."

All this despite the fact that she spends less than half the video in that outfit. Seriously, a minute and 25 seconds in, Britney is outside wearing track pants and a sports bra and doesn't look back. Now, we're sure plenty of people find Sporty Spears just as alluring, but on Oct. 31, slipping into your workout gear is a whole lot less exciting than buying knee socks and some feathers to stick in your braids. And not for nothing, you don't see the modern-day saucy students like Blair Waldorf and Serena Van Der Woodsen exploring fresh takes on a racerback bra and some shorts.

In fact, the whole thing was oddly inspiring. It spurred us, for instance, to do a lot more sit-ups in a day than ever before -- like, twenty, up from zero -- and it had girls and gays alike slavishly watching MTV, waiting for a glimpse of the video so we could record it onto our now-fossilized VHS tapes and then do the pause-and-rewind routine until we'd learned all the dance moves. (These kids today, with their YouTubes and their Interwebs, don't know our pain.) So thanks, Ms. Spears. Not only did you give us one of the all-time best tunes for dancing around the living room in our underwear, but you redefined plaid as something sexy rather than just that stuff Grandpa's pants are made of; plus, you've made Halloween considerably more entertaining for everyone -- and that's not even taking into account the ramifications of that red latex catsuit from "Oops, I Did It Again." Your legacy is assured.

I can't believe it's been a decade since my favorite Princess of Pop started her career  -- singing in food-courts, none the less! -- in what was called the Loreal Hair Zone Mall Tour in 1998, when she was just 17! OMG when I think about what I was up to ten years ago, it involved Furby's and Tamagotchi's!!

From mall tours to sell-out stadiums across the world is a pretty amazing progression and an incredible journey of unimaginable success, so to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the U.S. release of "...Baby One More Time" we're taking a look back at where it all started.

To mark this milestone I would like to personally begin a crowd wave, of the online variety, to celebrate 10 years of "...Baby One More Time," 10 years of Britney, and, perhaps most importantly, 10 years of unconditional support from you guys!! This really proves that only a true star can survive the test of time (sorry Furby)!

Well, Brit's working hard in L.A this week, so maybe she'll have to take an unexpected trip to the massage salon after all the dance routines she's been working on. And if anyone can handle unexpected twists and turns, it's Britney!

Oh, and in case you were curious... Brit's in good company as a freedom-loving and straightforward Sagittarius! Other celebs under the sign of the Archer include Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Nelly Furtado! Talk about Sagittarius singing sensations!

Britney made quite a splash in her short, sparkly, silver dress at
this year's VMAs, showing off some enviable well-toned legs.




Now Team Britney has posted some pictures of the superstar at dance
rehearsal and we're reminded of what an athlete the "Womanizer" singer
is. One thing that we've always appreciated about Britney is that
she's no stranger to working out. Our girl is a fighter, not a waif!




Needless to say, as soon as we saw the pictures of our girl flashing a
peek at her trademark abs on the rehearsal dance floor, we printed up
that photo and posted it on the refrigerator for inspiration.

Oh we'll still eat those cupcakes we've been dreaming about, but we'll
be thinking about Brit's abs when we're kicking ass at the gym.

A star of Britney Spears' caliber attracts the eyes of ardent fans as well as many hard-to-please fashion critics. The recent passing of Mr. Blackwell, a barometer for red carpet disasters since the 1960s, got us thinking that it's a shame that the famous founder of the Worst Dressed list is not around to see how Britney has turned things around and how she has so gracefully listened and responded to his fashion feedback.

In 2000, Mr. Blackwell slammed Britney's kittenish looks and called the singer a "belly-baring songbird."

There was no midriff to be found as Britney dropped in on a school in the Bronx, NY, in a generous navy wrap dress that covers her midriff but flatters the neckline.



In 2005, Mr. Blackwell called Britney an "over-the-hill Lolita," saying her pop princess ensembles weren't becoming of a maturing singer.

Au contraire, look at Britney just months ago at this Malibu fundraiser in a sexy and mature little black dress.



In 2007, Mr. Blackwell seemed to give up hope and swore that Brit was "style free and fashion deprived." Britney returned in 2008 to make a triumphant sweep at the VMAs while wearing well-received Atelier Versace head to toe.



We all make style mistakes, but we at Celebuzz know who deserves an award for Most Improved. With Britney's new sense of style she certainly won't be making Mr. Blackwell roll over in his grave anytime soon!

Here's Brit performing 'Oops I Did It Again' back in 2000. She looks so amazing in this video and it's one of my favorite Britney songs. Classic Britney! :)

The trial for Britney Spears' August 6, 2007 fender bender where she was charged with driving-without-a-license ended in a deadlock yesterday. After the jury reported that they could not reach a unanimous decision, Judge James Steele made the the jurors continue deliberating, although they were not able to reach a verdict and the case was deemed a mistrial.

Both the prosecution and the defense were allowed another 11 minutes to restate their cases this morning, in hopes that it would spur the jurors into agreement. They remained 10 to 2, although it has not been released whether the majority thought Britney was guilty or innocent of the charges. 

Britney did not attend any part of the trial. She faced up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if she was convicted of the misdemeanor charge.

Britney's defense maintained that she was not required to carry a California license because she considers Kentwood, Louisiana her true home and held a valid Louisiana driver's license at the time of the incident.

Many of you, including our dear friends at the Washington Post, have noticed a Gary Coleman look-a-like in the featured video section at the top of the Web site. Well, we do have an explanation.

The image behind the fence was actually taken from Britney's "Piece of Me" music video. We've posted the original above, so you can see that it isn't Gary Coleman after all.

However, Team Britney and I plan on pretending that it is actually Gary Coleman, because we just don't see him in enough infomercials these days. Feel free to join us!

Jive Records have released the promo packet for Britney's upcoming album 'Circus' and we're excited to say, the list of upcoming publicity does include a tentatively scheduled early 2009 U.S. tour!

The promo also lists Brit's "Top 10 Sales Markets," with L.A. taking the top spot, "Index Markets," and "Awards Highlights." If all of her awards were included this thing could go on for days!

And if you didn't already know... Britney is currently the world record holder of the very impressive "Most Searched Person on the Internet." Team Britney intends to keep it that way.

This weekend, they added a truly brilliant new spin to the Purse Hiding Pose: they reported on the status of Britney's underarms. I can only hope they make it a regular series: 'Armpit Watch 2008'. Friday night Britney had dance rehearsal to work on a new routine. Britney, her choreographer Andre, and her dance crew had a blast playing around with some new moves.

If you look closely, you'll see that Britney is indeed holding a whip! Looks like her new music video might be even hotter than "Womanizer!"

Just look how much two-year-old Britney looks like two-year-old JJ ... they could almost be twins, from a different decade! From their pouty lips and button noses to their wispy blond locks, young Brit and Jayden James couldn't be more alike... or any cuter!

The Internet has been blowing up today with the news that Britney has broken records with her new single "Womanizer" by making the leap from number 96 to number 1 on the Billboard charts! From MTV.com here in the U.S, to BBC over in the U.K, the world is abuzz about Britney's incredible success.

This is phenomenal news for Brit since it's her first Billboard chart topper since "Baby One More Time" way back in 1999! And not only that! "Womanizer" is also number 1 on iTunes right now in Canada, France, Spain and Sweden! Phew!

These tour buses drive by Brit's house fairly often, and it's kind of fun when she gets to see them! Britney was sitting at a stoplight right by her place recently and spotted this bus full of people taking pictures. She stopped and waved for a minute. Hopefully they were able to get some good shots!

By now we hope you've all checked out Britney's new video for "Womanizer," the first single off her upcoming album Circus. Team Britney hasn't been able to get the song out of our heads for weeks... and we don't want to!
 
We spoke with Britney and managed to get all the juicy details from the shoot... including the name of the gorgeous guy who plays the "Woma-womanizer." Brit says the lucky guy is none other than male model, Brandon Stoughton... only the best for our Brit.
 
Brit tells us the vid was directed by Joseph Kahn, the master behind the camera of Brit's hits "Toxic" and "Stronger," and was shot in Los Angeles over three days. We guess that's how long it takes to perfect the multiple looks Britney sports in the video. Doesn't she work hard?!
 
Britney's personas included a limo driver, a sultry satin-wearing seductress, and a wig-donning, tattoo-covered waitress. Brit's waitressing scene was filmed at Elevate Lounge in Takami Sushi & Robata Restaurant, located in downtown Los Angeles. We'll have to make a visit!
