    Blast From The Past: Britney Circa 1998

    I can't believe it's been a decade since my favorite Princess of Pop started her career  -- singing in food-courts, none the less! -- in what was called the Loreal Hair Zone Mall Tour in 1998, when she was just 17! OMG when I think about what I was up to ten years ago, it involved Furby's and Tamagotchi's!!

    From mall tours to sell-out stadiums across the world is a pretty amazing progression and an incredible journey of unimaginable success, so to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the U.S. release of "...Baby One More Time" we're taking a look back at where it all started.

    To mark this milestone I would like to personally begin a crowd wave, of the online variety, to celebrate 10 years of "...Baby One More Time," 10 years of Britney, and, perhaps most importantly, 10 years of unconditional support from you guys!! This really proves that only a true star can survive the test of time (sorry Furby)!

      Ten years ago... I was an awkward 3rd grader with no friends, trapped within the confines of gospel music, my only escape being rap or Destiny's Child (neither of which I cared for). I had no knowledge of the existence of pop music industry (let alone Britney) until a year later when I transferred to another school and listened to radio disney on the way from school in my Mom's car and you heard a Britney song every half hour. I fell in love with her music then.

      I can honestly say Britney, Backstreet Boys, and the rest of that era made me fall in love with music again and for that, I'm truly grateful. :)

      when I first heard this song, I was a 15-year-old girl. I loved britney from the first moment and i can say i grew up listening to her music. i even dressed up for school inspired by her outfits.. i love u britney!!!

      OMG she sounds good...you can tell shes really singing...some how she lost confidence of her voice and she shouldnt have she has a great voice.
      I saw a clip of her singing the same sond at david lettermen and it did not sound the same she seems unsure of herself....hope she gaines confidence in her voice...sing from the HEART Brit.!!!

      I was 10 years old. I had just moved in with my grandparents after being abused by a married couple that were supposed to be taking care of me and my siblings while my mom was in a different country. A few weeks after I'd moved in with my grandma was when I had watched "...Baby one more time" for the very first time, I fell in love with the choreography, and of course Britney. I'll never forget that day and I knew she was going to be a huge artist for ever no matter what. So when I moved in with my grandparents I call that the-baby-one-more-time era of my life, a new chapter :)

      I am soo happy to celebrate 10 years of this I mean this is amazing!!! Britney has been on top all of this time and no matter hwat she has done she has had so many wonderful fans to support her. 10 years ago I started kindergarden, had Britney school supplies, even cut my hair like Britney and so much more. If it weren't for Britney being my role model since age 5 I know I wouldn't nearly be the same person I am today!! I love you Britney you literally changed my life by everything you did and continue to do :)

      Omg :)) that was a long time ago...I dressed like Britney, tried to act like Britney, made my lips and eyes and of course the sweet and beautiful smile like her...I dreamed every night that she came to Bosnia and I was on the way to meet her, but I couldn't reach her, believe me this was I nightmare, and I still have this dream to meet Britney :))

      I was in 10th grade when this song came out. At the time I was seriously into the goth scene, and tried so hard to hide how much I loved Britney! LOL. Congrats on 10 years of awesome, Britney!

      I was in 9th grade when this song came out. I remember seeing the video while waiting for my ride to school and thinking that this girl is going to be a one hit wonder. After a couple of listens I enjoyed it and everything to come after it. Fast forward ten years later and she is my favorite artist. I never gave up on Britney and am so happy that she is back on top!

      Wow! I remember that day Baby One More Time came out. I was 4 years old, watching MTV in my appartment in the Bronx, and all of a sudden they announced "Take A Look At This Brand New Artist" and there it was. I instantly fell in love. I am now 14 years old and I will ALWAYS be a Brit fan no matter what!

      I remember driving home from the grocery store. I was 17 too. Man, I feel old. It was only a 2 minute drive. When I heard "...Baby, One More Time" on the radio for the fist time, I was paralyzed. I sat in my parent's driveway to hear the whole song. I clearly and distinctly remember saying to myself: this girl is going to be a massive star! I love you Britney! Here's to the next 10 years!

      Ten years ago, I was a big 'N Sync fan. I went to a concert that they had in Colorado and had the opportunity to see you open for them. At first I booed you.       10 years ago i was not a britney fan. i didn't hate her or anything . just had no opinion. then she did the mall tour and actually came to edmonton alberta canada. she also performed that night and a friend made me go with him. i left that show a britney fan. it was the most amazing show i had ever seen. it was like it was one giant remix!. and britney never stopped moving. it was amazing. since then i have been a die hard fan, so no i have not been a fan for 10 years, but i have been a fan for 9.5 years. and i will be till the day i die she is the only artist in the world that doesn't have ONE BAD SONG. i honestly love then all. move over madonna, cause britney is the NEW QUEEN OF POP!

      I was at either the Granite Run Mall in PA or the Cherry Hill Mall in NJ when I saw the lovely Britney performing near a Sam Goody. I didn't stop to exclusively watch her but I remember being really curious about what I was hearing and seeing.

      A week later "Baby One More Time" was a featured video on the music television program "The Box" ... and then well, we all know what happened next. I've been following her career ever since! Brings back a lot of nostalgia to watch this video.

      Gosh, I think I was twelve years old and probably shopping at Claires for sparkly things, haha.

      I believe that I bought in those first two seconds.
      and after and I could not stop listening to their music.
      it is rare to think that 10 years have come and gone.

      When I first heard of ...Baby One More Time single, I was curious of who's the singer. I watched the music video on MTV and from that moment I became addicted to watch Britney's video all the time.

      I said to myself "this girl will become very famous in the music industry"! And yes, I am right, britney is not only famous but most the famous entertainer in the world!

      I couldn't imagine 'coz it seems only yesterday and wake one day that Britney's signature song turns 10 today!
